MATCH DESCRIPTION: (Both rich in English heritage and tradition, Land Rover Dallas and Land Rover Frisco suit up again this year with the Las Colinas Polo Club as a sponsor and competitors for the Land Rover Dallas Brinker Cup Tournament on Sunday, October 3, 2004.
The Land Rover Dallas Brinker Cup is in honor of Norman Brinker, one of the founders of the Las Colinas Polo Club. Norman Brinker is an inspiration to the polo club and it is an honor to recognize his contributions to the community with a tournament bearing his name.
The finals came down to Henry S. Miller/Intergame facing off against Land Rover. Land Rover dominated early as Brent Mirikitani converted a penalty to start the scoring, followed by Billy Mudra and Sain Joseph. Finally with time running out late in the second chukker, Land Rover’s Pruitt and Mirikitani ran a goal and drilled home a goal respectively giving each Land Rover player a goal and a 4-1 lead. Mirikitani added his second goal before Henry S. Miller Isidro Olivas scored to add a goal to their handicap goal, that was followed by a penalty score from Felix Anzorreguy exchanged goals in the fifth making it 8 -5 after five chukkers. Henry S. Miller/Intergame finally showed the urgency needed as they scored the first two goals, both from Felix Anzorreguy to cut the gap to 8-7, but Billy Mudra bought Land Rover some breathing room with a goal and Sain Joseph clinched it with another as Land Rover goes onto win 10-7. Sain Joseph was named the games Most Valuable Player.
