The Waimai polo team ably led by their International Tommy Wilson won the Ron Walker 14-goal Memorial final on Sunday at the Taupiri pologrounds, the final was a very evenly contested throughout the 6 chukkers. Bud Sorby the Player of the Tournament scored the winning goal for Waimai in the dying seconds of the 6th chukker.
Beau Broughton’s Cambridge team beat Morrinsville in the John Walker 4-goal Memorial final 3-2. Beau is an ex Taupiri player who had played many times with the late John Walker. This final was an absorbing match.
In the Walker 0-goal trophy final Kihikihi defeated Waimai 4-3.
