Empire Polo Club and Eldorado
Polo Club located in
Indio, California have generously offered facilities for Interscholastic
polo games over the weekend of Nov. 16 and 17. Please look over
the following information and get back to me indicating whether
or not you would be able to attend. If you can attend only one
of the days or need a particular time on either Saturday or Sunday
please let me know so that we may accommodate your needs.
WHAT: Interscholastic indoor polo.
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 16 games at 12pm
Sunday, Nov. 17 games at 10 am
WHERE: Indoor arena located at rodeo grounds at Empire Polo Club,
located directly off of Monroe St. in Indio (traveling south
on Monroe past 50th Ave. turn right onto Empire/Eldorado Polo
Clubs Rd. and then an immediate left into rodeo grounds)
STABLING: Stabling is available at Eldorado Polo Club for the
team horses. Buckets, feed, hoses, wheelbarrows, rakes and forks
must be brought with the horses. Pens must be left clean.
EXPECTED TEAMS: Eldorado Polo Club, Thacher School, Poway (for
Sunday), California Polo Club and Central Coast Polo Club.
EXPECTED SCHEDULE: Two games (4 chukkers) on Saturday. One game
(4 chukkers) and one round robin (6 chukkers) on Sunday.
DUTIES: Coaches will be asked to umpire. Players will be asked
to flag. Parents will be asked to keep score and time. Empire
Polo Club will water the arena. A drag with a tractor (hopefully)
will be left for our use. If a tractor is not available we may
need to use someone's pickup for this. Capable persons are needed
to drag the arena.
SOCIAL EVENTS: An informal get together of everybody at a local
pizza place on Saturday night (Ciro's Restaurant). Other suggestions
are welcomed.
