The Dogs are still learning to fish. They sure didn't get the
big ones. Master MAC, Fred Mannix, and Macho Man, Julio Zavaleta,
made it a long day. Tomas Pieres and Rob Roenisch made it seem
like ice fishing. As the Dogs kept on biting they could not put
their teeth in a Big Mac or Macho Fajita.
It was a good game
and the Canadian Rose, Dayelle Bradley, and Bullet Bob did well,
but the fish don't sink. Fred turned 60 this past weekend and
he still thinks 100 mph is normal speed. Canad wins the Gold
in Hockey an dF.M. goes for the silver only because the gold
was taken.
A little late,
but Fish Creek beat the Bulldogs in the 14-Goal Finals at Eldorado
Polo Club. The Fish
Creek Team are the major players, as they now own 3 out of the
four titles available at polo this Winter and the fourth one
has not been played for yet.
In the 6-Goal, it
was Diego Cossio and Old Silver, Eric Friden and Seth Herndon
with a kid named Joseph coming up. They beat a team named Cymbric
to walk away with the Roenisch Hardware. Seth Herndon is 60+
but nobody has told him yet, and he probably doesn't care, ask
Danny. Joseph is 16 and looking up as tomorrow is just another
day. Heck, Mom has a bronze and Joe has a tub full, what's the
big deal?
Florida was a wet
pain in the you know what. The Wolf Pack is in hybernation and
the Palamino is turning sogg. News from the Florida season is
all wet and they say the fields in the desert are bad!!!
See ya for the Skins. Saturday, February 23rd, 2002
We all believe it
takes pros to win polo and as a rule its 90 % true
and no one can believe a few old gray hairs are there at the
end of it
all. Well it can happen with a little bit of history . Seth Herndon
has
won most of the major tournaments in the U.S. if not all of them
and
nobody remembers experience and Seth has plenty of it. He must
be close to 70 and he is in the finals of the 6-goal with 3 patrons
and Diego Cossio as the only pro on the team. But Seth is a man
on a mission and proving it as he has been a major factor in
rolling to a final performance in the 6-goal. Now they are playing
3 pros but do not be shocked if they turn it
into a medal round on Sunday.
The big game sees
the Dogs and the Fish getting it on and it should be fun on the
sidelines. The Fish have been unstoppable in the Finals so far
this year. But it was a different team. Now it's Tomas Pieres
and Rob Roenisch with Macho Man Julio Zavaleta and Master Mannix
who just turned 60 last night. Looking for a Canadian Rose and
Bullet Bob to see if they can stop the Bulldog Express for a
Sunday brunch it should be fun. Be there!
Florida has no report
except the Frogs are very happy and it's very wet!!!

Well it's Friday
in the making and the high goal is looking for 3rd place as the
Governor and the British Captain step up to the plate and take
on the Duende squad. Duende is getting a little better each day.
Captain Mike is not into playing for 3rd place, so he wants a
positive look to the future next week as next month starts in
7 days. That is the big show tomorrow and it will be at 1:00
PM. We can all get ready for Sunday and wait to see the Dogs
go fishing, as the unbeaten foursome of the dynamic dual, Bob
and Dayelle ,try to beat Fish Creek. Something not done this
year in the finals as the Master Mannix and Macho Man Julio Z.
have all the high goal silver. But that was another team, now
they have the Roenisch and Pieres, Macho Man and Master Mannix
working for them and its an upstream job. It will be a barn burner
on Sunday. Be there!!! There will be some other major players
on Sunday as the British try to recover against the U.S.A. Not
really!!! It's a test match for the next World Cup. Not Really!!!
But it will be fun.
See ya at Polo.

It was solo as the
East Coast saw no polo because it was wet. As odd as it may seem,
it did not rain a drop, but the #1 Field at Eldorado was too
wet to play. The main game was on the International Field and
things were much better for the Four Flags of Windsor Polo, an
international team, than for Stone Canyon. Brad and the Bad Boys
were bad. The Governor, Mr. Nabbit, scored 4 goals and walked
away feeling much better after Friday's game. This guaranteed
the Master Mr. Mannix the finals, were he looks to avoid a Canadian
Rose and Bullet Bob. Both bite like Bulldogs. Duende was up by
4 and Master Mannix's blood was up, but he would not stop until
he was not behind and he did not. Can you believe that they beat
the Duende Team? Duende is going to be in the finals next month
I am sure. But me being sure does not mean much, as both my Teams
took a whipping on Friday and then one beat the other today.
Unfortunately, we did not get to play the Antelope's with either
team and it was a bad week for the Stone Canyon Boys as it was.
The Antelope's were food for the Dogs today. But Master Mannix
is back and the Dogs can't always catch Fish.
See you at polo!

The polo bullets
were blazing on Friday. Valentine's Day is over and the sweethearts
are history. In the desert there were some double butt whippings
and they were all at about the same time. The Bad Boys were bad
as Mike Hakan and the boys, oh Khai included, took a major run
to get back to the Dogs. Duende doubled -up on Stone Canyon for
a big + in their column. On the other side of the Club House,
Master Mannix and Macho Man gave the Four Flags of Windsor a
good reason to join up under the Maple Leaf. Giving them a lesson
in polo R-E-A-C-T-I-O-N and giving them an old fashion Mannix
flogging with instructor Julio Z. running the whip. So now it
comes down to Sunday to see who gets a piece of Bullet Bob and
the Canadian Rose for the Roenisch Hardware.
The six goal had
a wild surprise as Glen Hart stepped up to the six goal after
winning the 2-Goal, to lead his team to a win. Hey, guess what
MC Melody won today, and that means Antelope didn't? So there
is now only one team who has a perfect record besides the Bob
and Dayelle Show.
Down South in Florida,
The Wolf Pack had a long day, but the hunt was a success. They
followed Dad and went on to win in double overtime after a long
rain delay. The Palamino had a wreck as they lost to Texas Polo.
Sunday, Feb.
10th, 2002
Sunday was great
in the desert and not in Florida as the Gold Coast was under
water so nobody lost or won. Mean while, back in sunny, dry California,
polo was very good.
In the 10:00 am
game Windsor and the Bulldogs fought a giant battle, both Teams
has 3-goal leads go away and at the end it was 1-Goal in overtime.
It was the Dogs getting by 1 more time to stay undefeated and
Windsor puts a minus on their record, now 2-1. Bulldogs 4-0.
At noon, it was
mad Brad Schlei on a mission as he led the Bad Boys to another
victory stopping MC Melody for a big + heading into a tough week
with Fish Creek and Windsor.
The Big game had
a little bit of flair as Duende kept the Antelope boys on the
minus side, but Domingo and Carolyn both racked up some spectacular
moments. As Domingo unleashed a bomb early in the game from 140
yards out and Miss Anier with her horse almost on her dug a ball
out and kept on riding and sent it through the goal anyway. But
it was Khai Agon who showed the old folks he was still alive
winning his first high-goal game on Field 1. This Friday will
be a big one for Antelope as they take on MC Melody and one gets
out of the basement.
So as the wheel
turns the Bulldogs are in as they play the Cellar Dwellers next,
who are out and 2nd place is up between 4 teams.
Things will change in a week and it will become clear who will
make the finals. So come and see those ponies run down Sunday
Lane.
See ya at Polo.

It was short, it
was sweet and it was over. The Four Flags of Windsor made it
a nice day in the wind as they blew by Antelope. There was only
a moment of doubt and it was gone before a deep breath was, as
the Nabbit boys sent Antelope to another minus.
Hopefully Windsor
can hold their form tomorrow as they look the Bulldogs minus
1/2 the best combo in Polo. Bob and Dayelle Bradley show it will
not be missed by the Four Flags as Bullet Bob has 2 broken rib's
and finds breathing har. Windsor moves to 2-0 and Antelope moves
to 0-4. Sunday will be exciting and you will get your money's
worth!

Fish Creek was no
match for the Bull Dogs on Friday, Feb 8th. Without the help
of Master Mr. Mannix, Fish Creek did not seem to have their engine
at full-throttle. The Dogs were on full-feed with their dynamic
dual (Dayelle and Bob Bradley) cut in half. Bob Bradley was put
on the bench with some broken ribs earlier in the week. The Canadian
Rose filled in well racking up 2 for her and two for each of
Bob's broken ribs. They are only one game away from the Silver
on Sunday and they are booking for a bit of Windsor Capital on
Sunday. Their match is scheduled for 10:00 am.
There will be 6
Flags showing on Sunday, 2 Yanks, 3 Argentines, 1 Canadian, 1
Kiwi, 1 Mexican and the British Banner. It will be a world affair.
The other game today was Duende, getting their first win for
the season and MC Melody, drawing the short end of the stick
again. Tomorrow at 10:00 AM, see the boys in blue try to keep
Antelope tied with MC Melody and hope they don't look for the
Dogs too soon.
In Florida, "The
Palamino" (Jason Crowder), dropped another one and is not
a happy camper. The Everglades were defeated by Los Banditos
(Dollinger, Azzsaro, M. Gracida and J. Gracida. He must learn
to eat M & M's. Memo and Mike have made his season a little
rough, but he must go on. Earlier in the week The Palamino lost
his opener to C Spear in Palm Beach. The Everglades are currently
0-2.
Old Eldorado Lover
Boy Francisco Lanusse, now married, lead his team to victory.
His team, Lechuza, is now 2-0. They defeated Coca-Cola and Aspen.
The Wolf Pack, Daniel
Roenisch and Master Mannix, Jr., are resting after a golden January.
They get started again this Sunday.
Peter Ganibi came
flying through for San Saba down in Boca as he helped beat Bud
Light in the Sunshine League. Now he can start thinking about
the rematch with the Wolf Pack. San Saba is currently 1-0. Feb, 2nd, 2002
Eldorado News
The month of February
is here and it is as tough as ever. Four new teams for the 14-goal
League and some surprises already. Duende took a dusting from
good old Bulldogs. Duende looks to be a very strong team but
the Dogs were biting and took no prisoners.
Fish Creek hung
on with their new line-up to win in overtime. Stone Canyon came
out swinging and the new star on the block was a little too much
for the old timers as they beat Antelope.
The only one not
in action gets rolling tomorrow with four flags flying Windsor
Capital. You got a yank, the Governor Pat Nesbitt, a Brit . Malcom
Broadrick, a Mexican Fernando Pilego, and a California Argentine
Diego Cossio, it should be fun as soon as the frost goes back
North. See ya at Polo.
