See
Ya At The Finals
June
14, 2002: If your in
Southern CA on Sunday June 16, and you go to polo, you will see
a finals in the land of the surf and turf. It will be a good
show as the Collins gang, 2 parts Washington, and 2 parts California,
hook up to win the first big one in Del Mar. They already beat
up the side once, and they are looking to do it twice. I am sure
Harry Collins is looking for a win so the boys from Spokane had
better be looking good to the North on the board.
Santa Barbara is
looking for a new winner as Windsor finally is not in the finals
as they were beaten by Mr. Mansour (Ben Solemani) who missed
that game and put in 13 year-old wonder kid Miguelito Torres
to take Windsor Capital off the summer sweep for the moment.
Windsor gets to see MC Polo in the finals of the consolation
and Mansour combo switches to the Lawman (Matt Ladin) for the
finals as Inaki is a little swollen in the right hand. The Lawman
fits in well with the Palomino (Jason Crowder) and Sapo Caset,
who are on a roll and should make it a long day for the President,
Glen Holden and the boys in red, so come and see for yourself
its polo time.
June 10th,
'02 : Friday polo was
no picnic for the players. Mansour finally beat Windsor but Ben
Solemani was chicken and did not make the game and sent sensational
Miguelito
Torres 13 year-old wonder kid to take his place. It
worked as Miguelito took the Govenor to school and let the big
guns go 1 on 1 and with a lot of luck they pulled it off.
The Palomino (Jason Crowder)
and Sapo are beginning to look like a very good combo
even with the firepower of Alan Martinez and Mariano
Gonzalez. Joe Henderson and El Encanto took
the Spring out of Bok as they set Springbok back in the
negative column. Then it was the Surfer (Diego
Cossio) doing the job on the Ribs as the Cecil in Calif.
Ribs was delisted and Big Mac as they destroyed Mr. Ribs J.
Burrows and his new staff. Sunday, the magic was on as Windsor
blew El Encanto back up the hill as the Governor had a
good day scoring 5. Phillip Friden chasing the unknown
Mr.
Pat Nesbitt. In the other game, it was the chicken and
the carpet layers mowing down Springbok and Gehache blowing
by the Ribs too high to notice. So this makes Friday a big day
for the Big Macs as they take on Gehache with the ambassador
back in the saddle it won't be a walk in the park for the surfer
and the bankers.
In Texas, Matthew
Gonzalez and Mariano
Fassetta both got to watch the finals as things just
did not work. It was the Arellano's taking on Isla Carrol, who
were finishing up as they prepare for a Westbound trip to Santa
Barbara.
Where the surf meets
the turf it was opening day for the leagues. Mrs. Lisa missed
in O.T. and Manny sent the thank you note with a tail. A new
Mr. Dix and old Scotty Gundlach follow the Collins gang where
Harry likes to go to the winners circle. They also smoked them
on Sunday and are just waiting to see who they play come finals
time. Harry Collins' lost 10 foot of guts and still has more
than most anybody you know. Friday is a big day as silent Chris
Maloney and not so silent George Daou see who meets Mr. Harry
Collins next Sunday afternoon.
See ya at polo somewhere in c a l i f o r n i a this Friday
afternoon

June 3, '02: Action on the surf and turf begins
this Friday at San Diego Polo Club. The big sticks get
going with the June Leagues. They are ready to make smoke down
by the riverbed as Graham Bray, Scott Gundlach, Lisa BossticK
and the Collins gang hit the road to the final four. Don't miss
the ringing of the bell this Sunday afternoon (June 9th) as
it's Opening Day. See ya there. It's better than the beach.
--Steve Crowder June 3rd '02: Polo Report - By Steve Crowder. Windsor Capital put Mansour on the
carpet for 3 chukkers. They then rode the penalty shot of Mr.
Gonzalez to the winners circle as they blew Mansour out for 3
chukkers having a 6 goal lead for a while. Click
