PTF Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Awards


The PTF is seeking nominations for the following awards.

Male Intercollegiate Player of the Year

Daniel J. Wallace, Jr. Female Intercollegiate Player of the Year

Interscholastic Player of the Year.

As stated on page 128 of the 2003 USPA Blue Book:

The criteria for selectionof the Polo Training Foundation Award winners is participation in the Intercollegiate or Interscholastic programs of the United States Polo Association based on the following:

I. Playing Ability
A. Horsemanship
B. Mallet Skill
C. Team Work
D. Comprehension of thegame

II. Contribution to the Sport
A. Leadership
B. Commitment
C. Assistance to new players

III. Sportsmanship
A. Conduct in and out of the playing arena
B. Knowledge of the rules and their enforcement
C. A positive attitude

Any person can nominate a candidate for this award. Items II and III carry a tremendous amount of weight in consideration for these awards.

Nominations for the I/I awards must be postmarked no later than June 30, 2003.


The award presentation is tentatively scheduled during the fall USPA Board of Governors Meeting which looks right now like it will be in Aiken SC during the October polo horse sale.
