INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP IN BOGOTA


The Bogota Polo Club will be holding the 5th INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP which will take place from July 29 to August 03, 2003. This event has been very successful in the past. In 1999 and 2001 players from India, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Mexico participated. They all had a great time.

There will be two categories: From 8 to 12, and from 13 to 15 years old as of July 29, 2003. The players must belong to clubs that are members of FIP. The objective is to develop friendship, sportsmanship and competitiveness amongst future players, and an opportunity to improve their game. The tournament will be for individual players, there will be two local players and two guests in each team.

The international players will be staying at local players homes. The Club will offer all the facilities for these players. The Club will assign horses for the visiting players. The players should bring all their personal equipment such as boots, mallets, helmet etc. There will not be an inscription fee for international players. Players must come accompanied by an adult from each country. Players should be in Bogota in the morning of July 29. On that date therewill be practice games, the teams will then be organized and the horses assigned. Registration must be received no later than July 15, 2003.
