Feb. 27, ’05: We Were Smiling In The Desert - After the last 2 weeks it was only 2 days of polo, but it was one more day than we have had for 3 weeks. Everybody was smiling as we had 43 polo games in two days and the fields were just fine. The fields actually played pretty well even with this polo traffic. Sunday was a big day. It was supposed to be finals, but that did not happen. We are still trying to get to the medal round and we did get closer as some are pretty close to the finals. We know one and I think we know the final four in the others.
It started early at10 a.m. and it was 9 games all at once. It was Dandy Dan and Palm Desert taking a big step from 4- to 8- to 14-goal and doing well as they took on Antelope/Windsor on Field # 1. Then it was the battle of the Ranches as Klentner took out the Singing Cowboys from Melody Ranch. Kentfield lost out to Wild Bill and Teashi. Ambassador Glen Holden set the table as hard-riding Gehache put the first loss on Gypsy/Corleone in a couple of months. Rancho Esperanza was on top of Mansour II on field 8. Fish Creek II kept pace with the big boys as they stay undefeated over JHHE and keep all the wins in line. The Traveling Man Dirk Wray & Princeps/Chase Creek was stopped by a smile from Friendly Chevy. Mr. Curt Hughes always has a smile on his face. He won that one. It was a very happy Mr. Ward & Mr. Armour smiling as their team Shanghai stopped Ore-Pac. The Gray Ghost, Dempsey Mork, is rising again as he and the Torres rockets won their second game in a row and beat Playa Grande. Over at empire it was Le Paon stopping Aspen. At high noon there were 9 more games as Michael Rothbard and his Broadway Moons took out the Smiling Texan from Midland that is BTA. A happy Bilo got back on a winning track and beat Big Al. One who was not smiling was Bad Brad Schlei as his main man was hurt in an earlier game and could not play. Stone Canyon lost to Casa Blanca, but stay in the medal round, I think. Also at 12:00 it was the flash and Slash Steinke from Vancouver leading his Storm Cats over the Silver Fox (Harry Collins) and La Valencia. It was Michael and Broadway ringing up 2 wins for the day as they kept Pami Sue and Larsen Carts off the Broadway for the day.
It was Park Place playing in the Merrill Lynch Classic and taking it home as they beat White Oak 2. Over on the International it was Fish Creek saying water does run over rugs a s Big Mac (Fred Mannix) doing a lot of work led the Wolfman, Ashton Wolf, and teammates to the winners circle. They ran all over Mansour 1. in the 14-goal. There were two games in one as Duende won the first 1/2 8 to 1 and Tri Tech blasted away the second 1/2, 7 to 1. The Spiderman, Alan Martinez, made his debut in Desert polo as he replaces the Palomino (Jason Crowder who has a broken arm). As good as Tritech played, it was not enough. If you add both 1/2's they lose to Duende. Duende and Fish Creek go to the finals of the 14-Goal for Feb.
On the Holden Field there was a rookie and a couple of new rockets playing for Merrill Lynch. Tom Prentice, the rookie, did very well. He had a double boost from the Rockets named Sterling & Remington Giannico. They led Merrill Lynch past Peak Performance. It was Le Paon and crew stopping Aspen. The Black & Blue got past the Kiwi Connection on field 7. At Empire 2 it was Ludwig Polo and Adeptus in the finals. Everyone was so happy and smiling for a very good weekend of polo while it was raining in Florida.
Here are the league standings:
14-goal finals this Friday Fish Creek vs Duende
8-goal from 14 teams down to the 4 finalist who I think are . . .
# 1 Storm Cat 5 & 0
# 2 Gehache 4 & 1 + 19
# 3 Stone Canyon 4 & 1 + 14
# 4 Casa Blanca 4 & 1 + 11
# 5 Gyps'y/Corleone 4 & 1 + 9
If these stats are right Gypsy is out and #1 plays # 4 and #2 plays # 3. We will have to double check these stats.
In the other leagues I will get to you ASAP. So keep smiling and the Graybeards get to town this week for the Henry Trione Seniors Tournament. They will have to share the fields this year with all the Feb. leagues finishing in March. Just keep smiling we are playing polo. See ya with a smile.
Feb. 26th, ’05: It Happened - We played polo in California right here in Indio, so mud and no blood. It was a very nice day and there were 21 polo games. On Sunday it will be the same . Down South in Florida they were rained out on Friday, but were flying as well today. Steve Dalton, a recent transfer from California to Florida, was a big winner as he lead his team to the Feb. Championship of the Outback Steak League with an all gringo team. Which is hard to do these days. Also down South The Wolfgang (Millarville) with Little Mac (Frederick Mannix, Jr.) & Danny Boy (Daniel Roenisch) take on old pros from the desert and Duende polo. s Millarville takes on Orchard Hill. Hector Galindo , Mariano Gonzalez and Paco de Navarez were all Big Mike’s Boys here in the Desert.
It was a very busy day here in the desert. It was like this. The Vancover Flash and Slash Craig led the Storm Cats past undefeated Gehache. Now there are only 3 undefeated as Gypsy/Corleone did away with Palm Desert and head to the medal round. Both The Gypsy's and Storm Cats are undefeated as of today. Steve & Eric from up North are getting it on track as they stopped Big Al and Empire in OT, Friendly Chevy was unsociable and beat the Silver Fox (Harry Collins) and La valencia. Benjamin kept his team on top with a mighty save to stay out of OT as Mansour 2 beat Shanghai. Dirk Wray, the traveling man, kept up his travels and went past the Moon and Broadway for another + in the win column. It was Bad Brad doing a lot of damage early as Stone Canyon kept pace with a clean record as they drilled the Klentner Ranch Cowboys. It was Juan-Jo and Ore Pac getting by Lisa Coffin and JHHE and it was on field 1. It was the Gray Ghost, Dempsey Mork, scoring 5 goals against Ms. Pami Sue and Larsen Cart for La Mancha. Fish Creek 2 kept their slate clean as they played Playa Grande hard & fast. Silent Chris Maloney and TriTech, with a new team, blew the Carpet Man out of town. Duende got caught by a Fast-Etta (Mariano Fassetta) and he smoked with 6 goals. The Governor, Pat Nesbitt, stick & balled and guess what? It helped. He added 3 goals as Antelope/Windsor stopped Duende in the 14-goal. The Wall Street Man, Michael Rothbard led the charge and Broadway/Carnation took out Park Place. White Oak 2 did not stop at Rancho Esperanza. They just beat them to the road for another Win. The last of the big times it was Casa Blanca showing they are not totally burned down as they handled BTA for the day. I probably missed some as there were so many games with the Red White & Blue moving it was a busy day and Sunday will be bigger.
So we will see you there. See ya.
Feb. 25, ’05: The West Has Not Been The Best - The weather has been a very big factor in West Coast polo. Our West Coast representatives in the South (Florida) have had a hard time thus far. In the short time of 26-goal in Florida POLO The Wolf Pack (Millarville with Frederick Mannix, Jr.) was close as they lost to a very good team Bendabout. Mighty Mikee (Mike Matz) have been playing with Catamount. Mike Azzaro and Carlos Gracida went down with a pair of 10's. Then Pablo Spinacci, an old skins favorite, took a shot with ERG from White Birch. Hector Galindo, Mariano Gonzalez and Paco de Navarez, all teammates of the mighty Duende crowd and Mike Hakan, all lost as well. Then it was the highest rated of the former Pee Wee polo group, Jeff Hall got drilled when Old Pueblo took a hit from Skeeterville. It is still early and 2 more tournaments to go, so we will see you. You can read about open and 26 goal on The PoloBARN everyday, so look for FL results. But best of all we might play POLO here in Indio as soon as Sat. Feb. 26 a mere 30 hours from now. There will be 16 games of league polo and here is our latest schedule.

It did rain on Thursday briefly, but this would make it 6 days in a row. So come see them fly on the best fields in California. Sort of like Santa Barbara, they are so good when not used and not abused for sure. With only games on Feb. 13th one practice on Feb. 16th and no mas until tomorrow, the 26th. See ya.
Feb. 23, ’05: We Are Not Home Free, But . . . We are alone without the rain and it’s only Wednesday night. Just 36 hours before the first game on Friday, if we can play. Who knows? Only Mother Nature knows. If she blows tomorrow and the sun shines, maybe we can playa. We can hope, but it’s only a maybe. We will have a better idea by noon on Thursday. It’s kind of funny. We have so much time every week to think about polo. We get all wound up and a little h2o just says “no” and that’s final. It would be a perfect World if it would rain Sunday night and Monday every other week and be sunny the other day. However, it is not a perfect World or we would drive on the right and pass on the left. It’s simple, but it is the way it is. Weather is what it is and so are drivers, but they are supposed to be educated. Instead we spend all our money fighting and paying politicians. It’s time to send our leaders to Costa Rica. No troubles. No wars. No soldiers. It is a lot less, but maybe a lot more? Think about it!
Well back to polo. It’s a Question we can not answer. All we can tell you is that it is very wet. The question is will it dry soon? We hope so, but we do not know at this time. We do know we could not play in San Diego or Santa Barbara as it is really bad in those locations. Joe Srickland fights to save the polo fields in San Diego. Santa Barbara is just glad polo starts in 6 weeks and there is no more rain for the moment. We should be like the desert flowers and grass and be so happy it’s raining. We have been dry since ‘97 and there are no fires, so lets just be H A P P Y.
See ya
On this day, a year ago, it was nearly a 100 degrees. 20 some years ago the USA amateurs beat the Russians in hockey at the Olympics. Do you remember where you were that day? It was a Sunday and I was playing polo at Royal Palm Polo in Boca Raton, Fl. It was not raining, but it is today from San Francisco to Phoenix it’s very wet. San Diego is hanging on, but Lake Hodges is overflowing. Joe & Heather at the San Diego Polo Club are readying the Arc. This wet nasty day is shared by the West and it is a very unfriendly situation for your horses. So remember your partners in this weather. A little TLC is in order. It might be our beaches will be rebuilt in this weather. This is from an Engineer confirmed by San Diego’s man of the moment, Joe S. All the older dams in California are very full of silt so they do not hold a lot of water. With all this silt it has decayed our beaches. In the past this silt reached the ocean through rivers and was pushed back on the beach and created the beaches as they used to be. Makes sense. Just another fact that you can not change Mother Nature too much. Just something to talk about as we must go to Florida to see polo and when we get there so will the storm probably. They start the high goal tomorrow, so we will see ya somewhere soon.
Feb. 19th, '05: Polo? No Way. Not Today or Tomorrow. When? Nobody knows, but it will happen as Indio races for the rain forest stage along with most of the Golden State just turned green in the places where it’s not brown from mud. I think we passed the 10 inch mark today. Some parts of L.A. County have reached 30 inches since Oct. 14th. If you see something brown it has been moving and its just mud ,so do not worry. The big horses next door at the show grounds must have smelled the rain they took the week off. For years we have seen those clouds roll in and leave with nothing other than a dust storm. Now it’s different. When you see them you head to the tack room and your slicker which few people here even know what that is. In the city people call them raincoats. Here there becoming day clothes. The horses are still eating, the grass is still growing so maybe soon we will see no more of the sign "No POLO today." It will probably be sunny and 80 degrees tomorrow, but guess what, there is no POLO because it is wet and dangerous. The horses are not happy because they have to sleep in the mud, go out and walk in the mud and eat in the rain ,so we are not the only ones unhappy.
Down South where they still play polo it was the Wolf Pack leading a young Canadian team over the USA for bragging rights for 2005. They won the first annual JIMMER NEWMAN CUP in West Palm Beach. Also Sunday is the finals of the Bill Ylivsacker Cup which is the final 22-goal in IPC for ’05. They will head to the 26-goal. They have 15 teams which is real good polo and it’s expensive. They do have 3 pros on each team. It only costs a minimum of 350 grand ea. for the next 6 weeks. Same budget as all the 8-goal teams, 4-goal and 14-goal cost for the winter here and just for 1 team there. So just relax. They are not coming to town this year. If you want to play in the Skins you better get your team ready and the Officer’s Cup too. It’s time to make your move and there is no rain in the forecast after Wed. until March 2nd..
See ya at the Cantina. Beverly's still pumping the Toddy's so come on over.
Feb. 18th, '05: Unfriendly Sound - It’s 5:15 A.M. and there is a very unfriendly sound outside. The sounds is raindrops. They are speeding up so as I sit here wondering will we or will we not, I am no longer sure we will play. That is as the desert is no longer the place you say NO WORRIES. It is a worry. We have been stopped from playing 5 days thus far in the 48 days of this year. That is 9.6 % of the time. If you figure that in those 48 days we were supposed to play on 18 of those days that is about 30% of the time lost which is Florida time. I do not even think they have been rained out this year, maybe just 1 day. It’s just one of those years. If you think it’s normal have a look at the EXPLOSION of natural beauty in the hills and landscape. There are flowers everywhere. Some from seeds 30 years old. It is absolutely beautiful in the Desert as far as you can see and drive. It is a winter Wonderland. We just need to get the rain scheduled to happen on Monday not Friday. It would be so N I C E! We may have sun later today, so do not give up yet. See ya.
Feb. 17th, '05: Add A Pro & Go: There is always the theory of many patrons that they do not need pros, but only if they do not need to win. Without them they will not much like baseball, football and race cars. It’s the way it is. We had Klentner Ranch in the 12-goal, only 3 pro team and they destroyed others. Now you have 4 teams with 3 pros and look at the standings. You have only 1 team without a win in the 14-goal and it’s a 2 pro team. You have Stormcat leading the 8-goal & it is a team with 3 pros. One is a little one, but there is no doubt where he is headed, to the goal and fast. There is no guarantee you are going to win, but it is for sure without pros you will not as there can only be one winner. So its up to you.
Yesterday in make-up action it was a couple of blowouts and a sizzler in the 14- goal. It was a make up with a made-up team as TriTech has more players than grooms. The Palomino (Jason Crowder) joined the DL list with his first broken bone of his life. He broke his hand Sunday on the same field Mrs. Chrys Beal broke her arm. Only Jason did just 70 minutes later. It was a hands-off field on Sunday. Miguel Gutierrez was called in to replace Jason who was already playing with 2 subs Graham Bray and Mariano Gutierrez (Guti) taking Hugo & Alvaro's place. Silent Chris is involved in the 911 business in many ways and now he is using it quite a lot and they needed it yesterday for a few goals as the Big Mac & Macho Man (Fred Mannix, Sr. and Julio Zavaletea) were much too much for a make-up squad. The new pro The Wolfman (Ashton Wolf) is working very well in this combo and Fish Creek goes direct to the semis with a 4 & 0 record. In the other game it was Duende pulling the rug out from under the Carpet Man and left a thread of hope for he semis. Friday in the 14-goal are practice games for all practical purposes. All 4 teams meet on Friday just so they can battle on Sunday for a spot in the semis next Friday. Just the way it works in the 8-goal. It was the Mig’s little bro the Missle Santi Torres and a very hard riding patron Mr. Stainke proving he is in the mix as they took on Klentner’s Rancho and gave the cowboys their second minus for the month. We have a way to go before the medal round is known, but if Mother Nature is friendly. We will gain some ground today and Friday.
Thursday make-up
White Oak 2 vs Larsen Cart
La Valencia vs Hobach/Melody Ranch
Plays Grande vs Broadway
Friendly Chevorlet vs BTA
Friday

Stone Canyon vs. Klentner Ranch
Fish Creek 2 vs. JHHE
2.30 p.m.

See ya.

Feb. 13th, ’05: Today was a day too. Remember it was muddy roads, soaked stalls, terrible track conditions and awesome fields? It played better than 90 % of the polo fields in America and it played well. That was a positive as there were 18 games today at Eldorado Polo Club, so it was a proven fact. Some lost at least 1/2 and they may blame the fields, but who knows why they were the same fields your opponents played on. At 11 a.m. it was Gypsy/Corleone burying Princeps/Chase Creek. Next door it was Dudley's house Casa Blanca blowing by La Valencia. Mansour 2 took a hit from Park Place. Fish Creek 2 did away with Larsen Cart and Pami Sue (Kim Larson). It was La Mancha short on the final board with Rancho Esperanza. Lisa Coffin of JHHE team could not Bury White Oak 2. It was Fish Creek and the Big Mac (Fred Mannix) sliding by The Rug Man (Ben Solemani) as Mansour lead for 4, but lost the one that counted. It was Stone Canyon beating up the Lady as Chrys Beal was injured with a broken hand, but the Stones won in the end. Storm Cat fought for their lives and survived as they got by Palm Desert with Miss K.K., but just barely. I missed a few so we will have to report on those games later. It was also Melody going down again. In the final game of the day Windsor/Antelope took a hiding from Silent Chris Maloney as he personally stopped The Governor other than a penalty shot. He should be happy and looking at the upside. We missed some games due to rain on Sat. Sun. Some teams missed one, some missed 2, but it’s California Polo. You will play that game, just relax and see us on Wednesday. We are here to play polo and rain is rain, so lets play polo when we can.
See ya
Feb. 12th, '05: Turn On The Lights - Well the weather has been fowl and that means suited for fowls, not humans or animals. We may be on a roll now as life looks like we will play polo on Sunday. We need to be so happy there will be a day here and there. You never hear that in Calif. but that’s the way it is these days as the global warming continues. We may live in a tropic area soon. Who knows. It will not be because of the big one. Stories say we will be on beach front. It is sliding not falling. After all that B.S. it was a sad day as both of the Desert boys got slapped out of the semis down South in the dry land Palm Beach. Little Mac (Frederick Mannix, Jr.) lost again to Mr. Merlos. The Midget (Tomas Pieres) failed to make it as well, but there’s hope. It’s just not until the next one.
Here in the tropics we did not play polo, but tomorrow there are 16 real games and then some practices. Here we go. We may be wrong, but that’s not my problem call 760 342 4133 and listen to the game schedule for details!
11 a.m.
Gypsy Vs Princeps - it is Sean vs Dirk and they are not at a party
Broadway vs Shanghi - New York Vs Texas they are both over rated
Ore-Pac vs Playa Grande - Playa Grande has Shelley and that’s so nice
La Macha vs Rancho Esperanza - 1 has not won, 1 has not lost
Mansour 2 vs Park Place - Beb Ben & Eric + Seb. Siisenor
JHHE vs White Oak 2 - There's a Coffin in front and George is thinking
Melody Ranch vs Casa Blanca - It may be singing at the house burning
Fish Creek vs Larsen Cart - Fish don't drive and Carts don't swim?
1 p.m.
Storm Cat vs Palm Desert - the Desert will be stormed.
Kentfield vs Summerland - Kent is correct Summerland is not
Empire vs Teaashi - Who's higher the Emp or the Tea?
Mansour vs Fish Creek - Fish don't use carpet and water is not carpet
Stone Canyon vs BTA - Do not have a solution
Shoot 4 the Moon vs La Valencia - there's a moon in the valley
2.30 p.m. Tri TEch vs Antelope/Windsor Silent Chris vs The G o v e r n o r
It will be a bright day no matter what. If we get to play polo and we all look for it as there are few days that life is so simple. It is a simple day when you just have fun, burn energy and do not see one reason to not like your life. You just know it’s easy to say lets . . .
JUST BE HAPPY. SEE YA.
Feb. 11, '05: This is Indio , Ca. and Indio is in the Ca. Desert and the definition of a desert is an barren area incapable of supporting a population or vegetataion without artificial water supply. For the last 120 days we have had 11 inches of rain and guess what? It is raining again. As of the 11th day of Feb. we will not have polo today and tommorrow is in question. As the weather channel says this may continue through Sat. night and if you drive from Phoneix to San Ynez its as green as Costa Rica. Even hills with rocks are growing something. Well maybe the desert is becoming the garden of Eden and we have to start crowning fields so we can play polo because we need to play polo. We have 43 games scheduled this weekend so everyone can go home and take care of Valentine's on Monday. Do not forget your Valentine. You have nothing else to do on this rainy day. See ya in the tropics
Feb. 9, 05: Little Mac Makes Another Frederick Mannix, Jr. continues to rock down South as the Millarville squad wins their 3rd straight game to win division 1. They head to the medal round where their opponent will be decided this week as the final 22-goal league comes close to completion. Next they head to the big stuff in the 26-goal. They beat the only team to get them last month in the league play, Santa Clara, so there was a smile on their faces. The Midget, Tomas Pieres, also made it to the medal round as his only loss was to Little Mac and the Cannuck Wolves, who by the way have a mostly young game with Canada vs USA next Sat. at Palm Beach INT. It should be good. Here is the line-up as Frederick Mannix, Jr. turns 21.
USA Canada
21 Toby Wayman (3) 20 Fredrick Mannix (7)
24 Jeff Hall (8) 24 Daniel Roenish (6)
24 Nick Roldan (7) Todd Offen (5)
23 Kris Kampsen (6) Brandon Phillips(6)
All players in there 20's and 6 of the 8 were part of Pee Wee polo programs, so they are working. If you are in the area stop by, it should be a good one.
There is an injury report out West and it’s growing in the Valentine list as Hector Monsrat, Hugo Barabucci and Joey Gallemore all had unfriendly contact with enemy fire last weekend.
See ya at polo.
Feb. 7th, ’05: Super Sunday - Not only were the Patriots playing good ball, so were a whole bunch of polo players. The fields were rocking at Eldorado. There were 20 games today. No other Club in polo can say they had 20 tournament games in 1 club in 1 day!
There were some blowouts and a holdout and a few in OT. There were 20 so we will miss some, but here is a brief. We will fill in the blanks tomorrow and go to the home page of this site for team line-ups and standings.
It started at 10 a.m. and it was Joey GALLEMORE LIGHTING UP THE BOARD ON SUNDAY AM AS THEY BEAT the Desert Vet with Joey's group from Rancho Esperanza . Then it was Ms. Lisa Coffin picking up her 2nd win to go to 2 & 0 with JHHE as they beat Broadway. In the 14-goal it was Duende getting by a crippled TriTech as Hugo Barabucci went down early with a severely injured arm from an errant hook .
White Oak 2 minus Laith kept the ball up front and stopped Playa Grande in the 4-goal. It was Fish Creek 2 staying in the + zone as they won over The Texan Steve Armour, who is not ready yet, but closing the door to making it happen. Gehache kept on a roll even without the Ambassador Glen Holden as they beat Melody Ranch . It was the new kid on the block MR. Stinke blowing his horn with 2 wins on his first weekend as today they were just a little better than BTA. Stone Canyon did their job on La Valencia to also reach 2 & o It was Klentner Ranch meeting Ms. Figi and they went off the field knowing Lady Suzanne can be very tough on the field of play and Gypsy/Corleone headsto 2 and 0. Klentner is 1 & 1. Empire and big Al took home the win as Summerland had a holdout on a disputed game over at Empire. Teashi and Wild Bill Freeman hit the field a running and stopped Kentfield. It was Dudley's Casa Blanca finally getting a win for a big victory over Michael in from Broadway with young gun Eric Dix picking his way into a running game. It was Park Place getting by the Gray Ghost Dempsey Mork and La Mancha as this team seems to be there, but not there. Lots of youth & power just missing something. It was Fish Creek handling the final chores of the day as they were just a little too much for Geoff Palmer and the Governor Pat Nesbitt as it looked like for the1st 1/2 it was the Gov's day, but the speed diminished in the 4th as Fish Creek jumped all over Windsor for 4 goals only 1 answered . So the Big Mac (Fred Mannix) is keeping up with Little Mac down South as they head into week 2 at 2 & 0 on both coasts.
We will catch up tomorrow with league standings.
Well other than a couple of blown games I had JHHE winning that was wrong and they did not and Micheal schooled em for the win as Manny Questal another young gun on the upside scored 5 goals

Feb. 05 ’05: Saturday Was A Super Day - As Tony Gregg would say on an absolutely perfect day. It was weather wise at Eldorado Polo Club in Indio ,Ca,. Here is what happen in a day and will happen on Super Bowl Sunday.

Feb 4, ’05: Take Off and Run, Run, Run That’s just what they did today at Eldorado Polo Club in Indio, CA. They ran and they ran again. They were running all over. It was a day to remember and it’s a weekend to make management work in 72 hours. There will be 33 hours of daylight and there will be 86 polo games as there are 43 teams. They all play twice and that does not count practice games. So if you want to see polo just stop by!
It started quick as Bullet Bob Bradley returned to action after winning his bronze. He is part of a new team called Melody Ranch. They were out done by the Man on a mission from San Diego, Dirk Wray, who is a real rookie. Yesterday it was coaching league 2-goal and today it was 8- goal California- style. Dirk scored 3 goals in his debut. so now he has to do a little better every game so by Feb. 26th we expect 10 for the day. It was The Photo Man Wayda taking time off from ugly women to ride his horses. He flew for the day and was the lead man on taking the opponents out as he returns from the injured list with a shot shoulder. Wayda was rock ing today as they got by with Princeps/Chase Creek sending the singers down the creek from Melody Ranch. Little Mac (Frederick Mannix) did it yesterday as he scored 7 goals in Florida to smoke them. Pop, Fred Mannix, Sr. just drilled them today as the rolled the Fish Creek squad over Duende who showed their first time out and felt the twang of sudden impact of no polo for 3 months. Over on the # 8 it was Broadway and Questel's under rated Rancho Esperanza and finding out polo is a game everyday and when your hot your hot and when your not you are not. They were not as Joe Gallemore was no average Joe today. He was running and put a win on the score sheet. Sir Sean Keyes went to 0 at 9am today and he slowed down, but Lady Suzanne Figi stayed focused and ran by the Silver Fox (Harry Collins) and kept their winning ways . Pami Sue (Kim Larson) showed her Mettle and did a** whipping on the Ore Pacs as they thought they were packing a mighty weight today. They were I guess as Kim Larson had her new carts up and smoking today. Over at the International field it was Mansour following the Governor for 5 chukkers. Then as most of the year Dan Walker started thinking polo and the machines started doing their job because it was fly tome. They got off auto pilot and Mansour took control at the end of 5, tied em and slid down the field to win in OT.
That was the end of the day, but it starts all over sat as Jr.polo starts at 9 AM and it will not stop until sundown as there are 14 games to read the menu on. So see you there .

It's a great day to start out in front and today is the day!! It starts with a whole bunch of new blood and new faces so be ready. B.Bradley S.Wayda
The Teams are new to the turf and Dirk Wray a new bullet from San Diego will be making his first, a big one, as he goes from there to now or 0 to 8. He is ready to rock and he has the Photo man (Steve Wayda) who can take it all in if he gets time, but he will not, as its a team sport and the clicker is in the car.
in the 14 goal its :
Duende vs Fish Creek
M.Torres 2 F.Mannix 1
M.LLambias A.Zavaleta

This brings youth vs youth and power on the powder as Fred Mannix, Sr. tries to keep up with The Little Mac, who won today as he whipped the Midget in FL today by 3 to put Millarville at 2 & 0 . R.H. is just tuning up the boys and Augi joins bro. to see what they can do and the Wolfman Ashton takes over for Mom to see if he can open the holes.
Down to the 4 its Broadway vs rancho Esperanza
Sir Michael is looking to plant his seed early.
Defening Champs Corleone/Gypsy take on La Valencia as the Silver Fox works to stop Sir Sean's run to the gold times 2. At 2:30 its Pammi Sue (Kim Larsen) and Larsen Carts trying to stop the big E on the road to the big 4. At 2:30 it's a brand new affair as Storm Cat and Mr. Vancouver stands up to see if they can keep the fire burning at CasaBlanca. At 2:30 it's the Rug Man (Ben Solemani) starting up his high-goal run to see if he can ruin the Governor's day with Mr. Walker-Joe Henderson-Henry Zavaleta as they take on the Fish + the Wolfman and brother Julio Zavaleta or Macho Man.
