3 4 MARCH, 2001 Eleven unique polo teams and more than 40 distinguished polo players gathered at Eldorado Polo Club on March 2, 2001, for the 21st Annual Seniors Tournament, known this year as the Trione Vineyards Seniors Tournament. Founding member Henry Trione has been sponsoring the Seniors Tournament since 1981. Since that time the rules have remained the same-each player must be over the age of 50 and the total age of each team must exceed 220. In addition, each player commits to a contribution to the Polo Training Foundation. It should be noted that at a recent Eldorado fundraiser, more the $70,000 was amassed for the benefit of the Polo Training Foundation. The tournament grows each year, attracting players from throughout the U.S. and as far away as Maui (Peter Baldwin). The weekend is full of good polo, good parties, and good memories. Friday evening saw an Italian Buffet at the Clubhouse for the Calcutta dinner, while Saturday night featured the Trione Vineyards Dinner with wines from the award-winning vineyards. Teams were divided into three brackets. n Bracket III, the CHICAGO CRUSHERS, with Dick Tauber, Dan Healy, Bill Stevens, and Mike Ward, defeated CELLEX-C who played with Richard Caleel, Don Healy, Patrick Brent, and John Mason. Bracket II Consolation was captured by MAUI MELODY, with Peter Baldwin, Paul von Gontard, Gratia Brown, and Colin Pyman. They beat El ENCANTO, with Eric Friden, Dennis Geiler, Jim Hunter, and John Clark. Bracket II was dominated by LIGHT BRIGADE, made up of Zhenya Kireushkin, Ashley Payne, Roger Fagan, and Lynn Hutton. They defeated SIR, composed of Glen Waterson, Ken Berry, Jack Clymer, and Jim Rusher. Bracket I Finals were taken
by H&H POLO FARMS, made up of the redoubtable Sue Sally Hale,
