The Gringos Are Coming
By Steve Crowder

June 17, '02: On the playing field whether it be soccer or polo the gringos are showing up. The U.S. beat Mexico in the World Cup. It was silent Chris Maloney and the old fellows shutting the doors down South in San Diego.

The consolation matches were not that close in either place as Madison Square with Chris Nevins from Texas shut fat boy George Daou down and rolled by them with a big defeat.

Where the surf meets the turf it was the Collins gang who rolled thru the first round playing top of the heap getting an unsociable greeting on the Sunday field. Only one Father was going to get a happy day out of it as silent Chris Maloney made papa Steve Maloney happy. They let Steve Dalton do the dancing as they sent the Washington - California combo home with no cup for dinner.

It was a great Father's Day for weather as the June gloom went back to sea for the weekend. Come and see the next big cup from San Diego to Santa Barbara. The sun is shinning and the ponies are flying .

See ya this Sunday afternoon and watch those ponies fly down Sunday lane. -- Steve Crowder
