CMC Cup 8-Goal

Las Colinas Polo Club season finale at Hibernia Championship Field was played before a packed house on Sunday July 13th.  The CMC cup played annually at LCPC is always a big event.  This years teams, CMC and Land Rover were evenly matched at eight goals so a tight match was expected.  CMC’s Mike McCleary scored the only goal in the first chukker for a 1-0 lead.  CMC’s Gonzalo Diz scored the lone goal in the second and finally Land Rover’s Chad Kraml got them on the scoreboard just before the end of chukker three making this low scoring match in favor of CMC 2-1 at the half.  Land Rover’s Lalo Ramirez scored first to tie, then Ed Scanlon gave them their first lead with his first goal.  CMC’s Diz quickly evened things back up for CMC at 3-3 after four chukkers.  Chad Kraml put Land Rover back in the lead with a penalty and Scanlon extended the lead with his second goal in as many chuckers.  CMC’s Gonzalo Diz could only answer one of the goals making it 5-4 after five chuckers.  Chad Kraml clinched it with two goals in the sixth.  Diz playing valiantly scored the lone CMC goal in the sixth for a final of Land Rover 7 and CMC 5.
