KPMG and State Farm faced off for the State Farm Cup June 29, 2003. The two nine goal teams were evenly matched in everyway hopefully led to a great match.
Robert Payne put State Farm on the scoreboard first but Chad Kraml quickly answered for KPMG. Kevin Mokarow gave State Farm back the lead only to see Barry Zindal tie it to end the scoring in the first chukker. Ed Scanlon scored to give KPMG their first lead early in the second chukker, but State Farms Mokarow again tied the score. The battle continued as Gabriel Gracida converted a penalty four to give KPMG the lead. It was short lived as Robert Payne nailed his own penalty four to tie the match 4-4 after two chukkers. State Farm dominated the third as Gonzalo Diaz scored twice, Payne once. In the fourth Diaz scored the lone goal making it 8-4 after four chukkers. State Farms Payne and KPMGs Gracida exchanged goals in the fifth making it 9-5 after five chukkers. Kevin Mokarow iced it with his third goal of the match for State Farm. KPMG scored three late goals but it was too little too late as State Farm won 10-8.
