The United States Women's Polo Federation will be be fielding sixteen (16) pro polo teams in its 2005/2006 Season, delivering red carpet sporting events across the U.S. to its spectators. The upcoming 2003/2004 Championship Play-Offs are being hosted in Palm Beach and Wellington, FL at the Palm Beach Polo Club over New Year's eve weekend in a 3-day sporting event.
WELLINGTON, FL (PRWEB) November 2, 2004 -- As the United States Women’s Polo Federation (USWPF) wraps up another successful leg of its 2003/2004 Championship Polo Tournament Season, the tent festivities and event planning have begun for delivery of their final red carpet event of the season which will be hosted in Wellington, FL at the Palm Beach Polo Club over a swank New Year’s eve 3-day sporting event weekend.
The USWPF is bringing in its Championship polo teams to vie for the 2004 U.S. Women’s Polo Federation’s Championship Cup with their field play greatly anticipated by polo enthusiasts across the country. Event planners for the league agree that L.A., New York and Palm Beach attendees will be captivated by this year’s red carpet festivities. Although an event calendar has been released by the league online, some of the posh particulars of the VIP event details are being kept hush by the event planners so that they may later fully regale the spectators.
“My primary goal for the USWPF is to innovate women’s polo and bring it to the forefront of professional premium sports,” remarked Kimberly Carr-Cavallo, USWPF President & League Commissioner. “Sports and entertainment today are more intertwined than ever. We intend to contribute greatly with new and enthralling imagery. From celebrities and society women in hats to corporate decision-makers in casual linens, with programs in hand, all are riveted by the match play on game day. There is a true air of excitement amongst the spectators when the horses come barreling down the field towards them with players swinging away with their mallets amongst all of the clapping at the sidelines and buzz of the champagne tents."
The pro polo league has partnered again with the premier Passport Publications & Media Corporation to promote their upcoming red carpet event in the Palm Beach Polo Magazine as well to develop new relationships with the Wellington Equestrian Festival. Previously the league has also worked with Passport supporting annual area American Red Cross Polo Luncheon benefit events.
Founded in 2000, the pro league which was initially comprised of Eastern and Western Circuit teams, planned to expand into twelve (12)regional teams over five (5) seasons. However, with top players and captains such as Alina Carta, Stormie Hale, Roxy Keyfauver, Karen Pimsner and Jolie Liston returning once again for the league's 2005 Season, the USWPF’s talent pool is developing quite a following. This season the USWPF also recruited former popular collegiate players Kelly Wells and Fiona Seager from University of Virginia to its roster for the Charlottesville Violet-tails team. Charlottesville compellingly defeated and eliminated hometown favorite Atlanta Firetails with a 5 to 4 match win this summer at the Atlanta leg of the Tournaments.
The USWPF, governing entity to the 16-team major sports league, will be fielding pro polo teams in Aiken, Atlanta, Bowling Green, Charlottesville, Chicago, Dallas, D.C., Lexington, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, Palm Beach, San Diego, Scottsdale and Seattle in its 2005/2006 Season. Although the broad appeal of polo as a classic sporting event is well established, the sixteen (16) pro teams now make the sport personally identifiable to luxury consumers on a regional basis as well.
As a premier luxury sports league, the USWPF is positioned to reach a very important women’s demographic base, specifically in the mid- to upper income ranges. The league's leading synergy with the luxury market continues to attract sponsors: Clive Christian, Van Michael Salon, Westye Group, St. John Boutique, The Wrecking Bar, Mori Luggage, Capetown Diamond Corp., Wyndham-Vinings, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle Magazine, Season Magazine, Sporting Woman Quarterly and Jezebel Magazine are counted among the season’s recent top drawer sponsors. Championship Play-Off sponsors will enjoy chic corporate villages with hosted entertaining areas at the upcoming red carpet roll out event.
