Due to a commitment issue with a ten-goal player, we have been forced to reschedule the Ford Trucks FIP Global Cup to April 2005. The tournament will be held the first two weeks after the 2005 U.S. Open Polo Championship.
Ford Trucks devotion to polo and Polo America is shown by their commitment not to cancel the event, but to reschedule it in 2005. They believe in the Ford Trucks FIP Global Cup and want to make it a reality. By moving the event to 2005 several changes have been made.
Ford Trucks primary focus is to support polo and promote new truck sales in the United States. For this reason the 2005 Ford Trucks FIP Global Cup will now be held entirely in the United States at a Southern Florida polo club to be announced. The overall prize package will now be $700,000. First place prizes will remain the same at four 2005 F-650 Super CrewZers, second place will be four 2005 F-150 Ford Trucks, third place prizes (TBA) will be valued at $15,000 each, and fourth place prizes (TBA) will be valued at $10,000 each.
Patrons will be happy to know that the entry fee will now be $125,000 vs. $250,000.
Patrons with commitments for this year will be given first right of refusal for 2005.
Except for the changes listed above everything else will remain the same. The tournament will still consist of four teams. Two patrons and two 10-goal players per team. The best win loss record will determine who will be in the finals. The FIP $100,000 40-goal game will be played the Friday prior to the finals.
The special ticket offer from Ford Trucks has been extended.
The east side of the polo field at the FIP $100,000 40 Goal Game and the finals of the Ford Trucks FIP Global Cup will be reserved for Ford Trucks tailgating. Anyone who brings their Ford Truck will be admitted free to the two tailgating parties.
Ford Truck owners will also be able to purchase Stadium tickets for either game at half price.
Any Polo Player who purchases a new Ford Truck from January 2004 through April 30, 2005 will receive two complimentary Stadium tickets.
Please e-mail Polo America after you have purchased your new Ford Truck and we will take care of your tickets.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the Ford Trucks FIP Global Cup in 2005.
Best regards,
Randy Russell
