INDIO – Empire Polo Club launched its summer green horse polo season May 14-15 with the Pollo Cup, an eight-chukker zero-goal tournament played Saturday and Sunday. Shoot 4 The Moon Polo defeated Mountain View 10-8 on the Forum Field, led by patrons Christian and Katie Moon. Katie Moon was named Most Valuable Player.

Lolo Payan and Vicky Owens anchored the Mountain View team sponsored by patron David Lasman.

The polo club offers green horse polo by monthly membership to interested players and trainers bringing along new horses in the sport. Green horse polo is played Tuesday through Sunday in early morning matches to avoid the summer heat. Weekend tournaments are open to all interested players for $250, complete with trophies and Saturday night barbecues at the club.
