BLOOMFIELD OVER GENE’S CLEANING IN SARATOGA COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CUP OPENER AT SARATOGA POLO, 8-7

Saratoga Polo’s 2005 Tournament Season officially got off to an exciting start Friday as Bloomfield narrowly edged Gene’s Cleaning in the first match of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce Cup Tournament with a final margin of 8-7.

Bloomfield’s Cuko Escapite, a standout of last year’s Saratoga Polo season, scored early and often. Escapite opened up the scoring in the first chukker with one of his five goals to lead the victors. He was supported offensively by the husband-wife team of Will Orthwein (1 goal) and Tab Orthwein (2 goals).

Gene’s Cleaning (also sporting a husband-wife team of their own in Gene and Jeaniene Gass) was led by Jube Baez with five tallies.

The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce Cup continues on Sunday, June 26 at Saratoga Polo’s Whitney Field at 5:30pm. The match will be followed be followed by dinner and live music. All matches are open to the public.
