OAK BROOK POLO
OPENS 83rd SEASON
Oak Brook, IL: The Oak Brook Polo Club will kick off its 83rd season of polo at the historic Oak Brook Polo Grounds on Independence Day weekend, Sunday, July 3rd.
Polo is an action-packed sport that entertains the entire family. Dress is casual and everyone is welcome! Pack a picnic lunch or purchase lunch from the sizzling grill, bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an afternoon in the country atmosphere of Oak Brook.
At 1 p.m. the high-goal Morgan Creek Cup will be played, followed by the USPA Midwest Cup at 3 p.m. Both matches will feature top international polo players competing with players from the Chicago area.
The following Sunday, July 10, spectators will enjoy the finals of the Morgan Creek Cup at 1 p.m. and the finals of the USPA Midwest Cup at 3 p.m.
The 2005 polo season will continue every Sunday through September 11. The summer season will feature charity benefits, a classic car show, corporate outings and teams competing in the Barbados vs. USA International Polo Challenge on July 31 and the Argentine-American Chamber Polo Cup on September 11.
Gates open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets, available at the gate, are $10 adults; $5 senior citizens (65 and over); children age 12 and under and parking are free.
Entrance to the Oak Brook Polo Grounds is at 31st Street and Polo Drive, one-half mile west of York Road in Oak Brook.
