In an exciting final match Grayfields, defeated Stone Rows 12 to 11 and captured the USPA Governor’s Cup at Blue Sky Polo Club. It wasn’t that easy for the winning team. Omar Sosa had two lame horses. We send our wishes that his horse will back soon to polo fields.
Omar was mentor of the victory, but Alejandro Gowland made the difference to let Omar do all the plays he had planned for the final. Alejandro and Omar were really well supported by Nicolas Harriot, who scored a beautiful goal)and Chirstophe Landon who scored the winning goal. Omar Sosa scored the best goal of the day from midfield, without touching the ground.
The Runner’s Up didn’t make it easier. The score after the third chukker was 6-6. Gaston Rodriguez, of good labor, was really helpful during first half of the game. During the second half the Fairclough’s got into the game and gave Omar Sosa a big headache. This wasn’t enough to stop Omar and his partners. Alejandro Gowland was named the MVP of the match, and Martin was awarded the Best Playing Pony, owned by Omar Sosa.
For the Lieutenant Governor's Cup Ramirez Financial / 4 on the Floor defeated Burntmills 9 to 7. Ramirez Financial basically won the Consolation match because they didn’t miss their goal opportunities. Both of the Patron’s Sam Ramirez and Dan Regan made their goal as well as Hernan Tasso and Juani Otharan. Burntmills wasn’t that accurate in their shots at goal. Both teams gave a really good show for the spectators.
For the 4th July Exhibition Game, Ramirez Financial (Chris Borghi 0, Sam Ramirez 0, Bob Berger 0 and Federico Cendoya 3, total 3 Goals) captured the Independence Day in free penalty shots. They tied the Game at 5 against Los Cojones (Neil Cohen 0, Paul Carey/ Bilal Shaykh 1, Chip Clapper 0, Nicolas Millan 4, total 3 Goals). Nicolas Millan tied the game in the last second from a Penalty four. Bob Berger and Sam Ramirez scored the free penalties to give the victory to Ramirez Financial.
The Polo Club hosted an Argentine “asado” celebrating the Independence Day. The barbecue was really well organized by Giselle (Gaston Rodriguez’ girlfriend) and Gaby (Nicolas Harriot’s wife).
