OAK BROOK POLO
HOSTS NATIONAL TOURNAMENT

Oak Brook, IL…The Oak Brook Polo Club will host the finals of the USPA Intra-Circuit polo tournament on Sunday, July 17.

Teams from Chicago International Polo have been competing in preliminary matches for two weeks to make it to the final round. The tournament is sanctioned by the United States Polo Association and is played in each of the USPA’s 13 circuits nationwide.

At 1 p.m. a team from Grand Rapids, Michigan will play CBS-TV, in a preliminary tournament. Playing for Grand Rapids will be Steve Van Andel, Scott Devon, Don Healy and Chris Stratemann. The CBS team will feature Joe Ahern, Darren Watts, Anthony Garcia and Romulo Crespo.
At 3 p.m. the finals of the USPA Intra-Circuit will be played.

The following Sunday, July 24, will feature the USPA President’s Cup and the high-goal Midwest Cup.
The 2005 polo season will continue every Sunday through September 11. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets, available at the gate, are $10 adults; $5 senior citizens (65 and over); children age 12 and under and parking are free.

Dress is casual and spectators are welcome. Pack a picnic lunch or purchase lunch from the grill, bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an afternoon of the “Sport of Kings!”
Entrance to the Oak Brook Polo Grounds is at 31st Street and Polo Drive, one-half mile west of York Road in Oak Brook.
