July 22nd, '05: BLOOMFIELD DOMINATES SUGAR MAPLE 11-4
The rain didn’t stop the match at Saratoga Polo, nor did it deter Bloomfield as they rolled on to an easy victory over Sugar Maple, 11-4, in USPA President’s Cup action on Friday.
Sugar Maple got off on the wrong foot with a penalty-laden first chukker. Cuko Escapite, the evening’s leading scorer, converted on two of those first chukker penalties to get Bloomfield out to the early lead. Of his 6 goals, 3 were off of penalties.
Bloomfield held onto their lead for the remainder of the match, slowing gaining more ground as the chukkers wore on.
Sugar Maple finally got on the board in the third chukker. Brad Limehouse a penalty shot in the third and another in the sixth for a pair of scores for Sugar Maple. Sebastian Bonorino also had 2 markers for the runners-up.
