Aug 10th, '05: BLOOMFIELD OVER SUGAR MAPLE IN BARRANTES AT SARATOGA POLO
The Hector and Susan Barrantes Memorial, one of the highlights of the Saratoga Polo season, is in full swing and Bloomfield posted a win over Sugar Maple with a final score of 12-9.
Bloomfield grabbed an early lead, getting a goal on handicap and 2 more from Cuko Escapite to finish the first chukker 3-0.
Sugar Maple responded in the second chukker with a pair of goals from Brad Limehouse. Limehouse continued on a tear in the third and Sugar Maple also got a pair of scores from Omar Sosa, but Escapite’s offensive push didn’t let up and Bloomfield finished out the first half on top, 6-5.
Escapite had three more markers in the second half to finish with 8, leading all scorers. He got some offensive help from his teammates Julian Hipwood (2 goals) and Cathy Brown (1).
Limehouse and Sosa each scored twice in the second half to keep Sugar Maple within striking distance throughout the remainder of the match.
