Aug. 29th, '05: ALMENDARES CLAIMS AUTUMN PLATES WIN AT SARATOGA POLO
Almendares relied on a balanced attack from all of its players to edge out Etrella/SaraBoca in the second match of the Autumn Plates, the final tournament of the 2005 Saratoga Polo Season. The final score was 11-10.
A tight match from beginning to finish, no squad ever built up a large lead and the score was tied on several occasions.
Cuko Escapite led the winning squad with 5 tallies, but received offensive support from each member of his squad.
Sebastian Bonorino powered Estrella/SaraBoca with 7 markers and Gomez Romereo had another 3. Perhaps more telling was that a whopping 7 of Estrella/SaraBoca’s were scored off of penalties.
