Kurland Polo International Season Underway

The Kurland Polo International has established itself as the highlight of the polo season in Plettenberg Bay. The Kurland International 2005, to be sponsored by BMW, Kurland Hotel and Avis, takes place on Thursday 29 December 2005 at the exquisite Kurland Estate in Plett.

With its rolling green lawns and pristine white clubhouse, the polo estate is the perfect spot to crack open the bubbly and enjoy a picnic lunch on the embankment. Traditionally attended by captains of industry, big business movers and shakers, as well as thousands of Plett locals and holidaymakers, the test match again sees South Africa take on England. Pioneered by dashing patron and player Clifford Elphick, the Plett polo season is a must on the summer holiday calendar.

"Our players and horses now have international status and the Kurland International is heading towards being rated one of the top test matches in the world," says Elphick. “The foreign interest generated by polo in Plett is stimulating the whole arena - from the breeding of horses to the improvement of the local game.”
