5 - 8 goal Marescaux Cup

History was made when the "Ponderosa" team won the Jamaica Polo Association's 2006 Marescaux Cup, for teams of 4 to 8 goals, on Saturday, March 25, 2005 at the St. Ann Polo Club, Drax Hall. Jason Wates is the youngest ever player, at 14 years old, and John Masterton, who won the trophy for the first time in 1956, is the oldest ever player, at 77 years old, to win this prestigious trophy, which was first presented in honour of Lt. Col. O.H.E. Marescaux in 1933.

The Tournament continues this week with the 5 to 8 goal Marescaux Cup, for which no more than 3 players from the same Club can play on the same team. The Semi Finals will be held on Thursday, March 23rd, 2006 at the St. Ann Polo Club, Drax Hall at 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and the Final of the Marescaux Cup will be held on Saturday, March 25th, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at the St. Ann Polo Club, Drax Hall between Thursday’s winners.
