WORLD CUP POLO MONDAY 2ND APRIL, 2001
First Game - Game 7
Argentina vs India

In a spectacular display of horsemanship reigning World Champions Argentina today totally outclassed a tough but less talented Indian team 16 - 8 at the World Cup at Werribee Park today. Playing in the top half of their draw Argentina now have a maximum 4 points from their two matches. India have yet to win a match and have not registered a point and have made it impossible for themselves to get through to the semi final on Friday.

Led by an outstanding game from their number 3 Ignacio Toccalino with 8 blistering goals Argentina have proven that they are very much the team to beat at the World Cup. Poccalino was high in his praise for the horses. "These are an outstanding group of polo ponies and a credit to the Australian polo community who have them available to us."

WORLD CUP POLO MONDAY, APRIL 2, 2001
SECOND GAME - GAME 8
USA vs England

In another extraordinary game at the World Cup Polo at Werribee Park the American team scored a major major upset with a remarkable come from behind finish to steal victory by one goal over the highly fancied English team 11 - 10 in a nail biter.

1.30 min out from the final bell outstanding 17 year old Chris Novins scored a spectacular goal and looked to have sealed victory for the USA. 30 seconds later England scored after a penalty and it looked as though the 3rd draw in two days of competition was assured.

Blonde bombshell Jason Crowder the number 4 for American wasn't finished. Crowder was the hero of the American win in setting up most of the forward sorties and scored a final goal in the last 30 seconds.

America came into this tournament as one of the unknowns and lost to Argentina in round 1.
This win gives them their first points for the tournament and a win against India on Wednesday should put them through to the final.

The loss today means that England must win on Wednesday against Argentina to assure a place in Fridays semi final.
