Channel Islands Fishing trip - Sunday night the Santa Barbara Polo Club had its annual summer Channel Islands Fishing trip. Leaving Ventura Harbor at 10PM we arrived at Santa Rosa Island at 4:30 AM and began fishing. Almost immediately we started getting hard strikes and started landing White Sea Bass and other game fish. Santiago Torres landed the jackpot fish when he managed to bring in a 48 lb Halibut. Andy Smith had the largest White Sea Bass weighing in at 45 lbs. David Lominska had the largest total of Sea Bass at 4. Also caught were Bonita, Yellowtail, Ling Cod, Red Snapper, Chucklehead, Sheepshead and other Rockfish. On the return trip we toured Santa Cruz Island and the Captain Bob of the Sea Biscuit took us (and the boat) into the Painted Cave sea cave. All in all, a successful trip!
