Results from Vic Graber Tournament

This memorial tournament is held in honor of Vic Graber who helped keep polo alive in Santa Barbara during a declining period in the 1950's and 1960's. Established shortly after his death in 1983, the tournament remembers an "old friend" and supporter of the club.

3:00 pm Championship Final Grant's Farm/Klentner Ranch def. Long Beach/McPolo. Grants Farm/Klentner Ranch won over Long Beach/McPolo 14 to 9.  Powerhouses Andy Busch and Joseph Stuart each made 6 goals, Busch made 1 from the penalty line, while Stuart made 2 goals from the penalty line. Justin Klentner scored 1 goal. Grant's Farm/Klentner team from left to right: Andy Busch, Tim Rudy, Joseph Stuart, and Justin Klentner with friends and family.

1:00 pm Round Robin Consolation Finals Los Toros/Prime Source def. Gehache and Chadmar/Mansour. Los Toros/Prime Source won the Consolation Round of the Vic Graber Memorial over Gehache with a score of 7 to 5.  Los Toros team member Agustin Zavaleta shot in 4 goals, 2 were penalty shots; Mariano Fassetta knocked in 2 goals; and Michael Rothbard made 1 goal. Gehache’s entire team made contributions: Ruben Gracida shot in 2 goals from the penalty lines; Henry Walker, Jeep Holden and Joel Baker knocked in 1 goal each. 
Next round of play is on this Friday, June 16 @ 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.  These games are free and open to the public at the SBPRC.
 
On Sunday, June 18, Father’s Day, it’ll be the USPA INTERCIRCUIT SUNDAY, JUNE 18 & 25  @ 1 & 3 p.m.  This is a regional tournament sponsored by the United States Polo Association. The winner used to represent the Pacific Coast Circuit in the national championships held in Dallas, Texas. Although the format is no longer played off between circuits, it established a very competitive tradition that remains today.
