Miguelito Torres won The Polo Excellence Awards 2004 Young Player of the Year, along with Ulysses Escapite, who played on Duende in the Santa Barbara 20-goal last summer. he awards have been given by Polo Magazine annually since 1986 to players 22 years or younger who have shown exceptional talent, sportsmanship and horsemanship in a particular year.
